About Steveston

The Village of Steveston is known for its fish industry. With saltwater scent hanging in the area, as fishing boats float upon the harbour, and seagulls wander the land in search for some tasty human treats, not only is this Village popular due to its fish industry or tourist flow, but the Village is also largely known for its historic past-time, which the community preserves with a great deal of effort. The Village isn't all old and historic either, along with maintaining the community’s history, it has been also developing periodically to keep up with its neighbouring communities.

There are plenty of other representations of how things used to be in Steveston. You’ll find opportunities to get up-close and personal with historic town life at the Steveston Museum, the Steveston Interurban Tram, and at London Heritage Farm. With the preservation and development both taking the turns for the betterment. The streets stay alive with the sound of merchants and commerce, amongst the longtime residents and tourists. Steveston’s streets are lined up with shops offering an ecstatic mix of fashion, food, and gift shops. Many feature handmade products and exquisite creations from local artisans that can only be found here. Steveston is the perfect place to find an authentic piece of Richmond for yourself.

You can even find yourself lost within the mesmerizing scenary the Village has to offer of Washington States’s Olympic Peninsula from the Garry Point Park. Steveston may also be recognized from ABC’s “Once Upon A Time” as Storybrooke. Aside from being a perfect location on land, Steveston lets you sail the wave for whale watching expeditions and eco-tours, where you might spot sea lions, herons, eagles, a pod of black-and-white orcas, or even majestic humpback whales. If that doesn’t tucker you out then resurfacing to land, you can rent a bike and explore the city’s 80 kilometres (50 miles) of dykes and trails. The Village of Steveston offers captivating pathways perfect for walking, biking, and taking in breathtaking water and mountain views.
